A Mip Holiday Trip

Hanging out with Pikachu!

I went on this AWESOME trip with my whole family to Hoboken, NJ, New York City and Philadelphia all in 5 days! It was the first time in a long time  that I got to ride in an airplane. So that was really exciting -except for the part when my ears popped-that really hurts! When we got off the plane, we started off in Hoboken, being prepared to wait in a long line for Carlos Bakery (A.K.A The Cake Boss.) I love their TV show and couldn’t wait to try a cannoli. It took us 2 hours standing outside in the rain but it was worth it. I got to try the best cannoli ever and took pictures with Buddy Valastro’s sister Grace, and his mother (they’re on the family TV show). I couldn’t believe that I was standing next to people that I watch on television everyday!

Butterscotch showed us Philly!

Next, we went to my uncle’s and aunt’s house in New York, where I saw my cousin Ryan and met my cousin Lauren for the first time! There 4 and 2, and are super funny and sweet! We had thanksgiving with them (the turkey was the best) and watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Plus football of course! Philidelphia was our next stop where we saw the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross’ house,  Benjamin Franklin’s grave and the went on a carriage ride. The Liberty Bell was super neat. I couldn’t believe that it was still in one piece after all these years! The Betsy Ross house was cool because they kept almost everything the same that it was when she lived in it! Except for a few glass walls for protection and a hidden heater behind a really old chair that my mom noticed! We threw pennies on Ben Franklin’s grave and took a carriage ride with a horse named Butterscotch. The person taking us on the ride told us that Butterscotch liked candy!

Getting ready to see The Radio City Rockettes

Our final destination was New York City, where my mom, sister and I went to go see The Radio City Rockettes while my brother and dad went to the Nintendo World Store. The Rockettes were GREAT! The costumes were really pretty and they did my favorite Rockette routine-The Wooden Soldiers. The Rockettes in that dance are all exactly on beat and have to go really slow in one part. You have to go see it to know what I’m talking about! We met up at the Nintendo store where my dad and brother were. The store was Amazing! They had all of the Nintendo games you could think of! Plus, I got a cool hat with the face of a Mario Kart Mushroom on it! (the brown angry -faced mushrooms). After that, we all went to the M & M store where we all bought 4 bags of all kinds of M & Ms!  The company was testing a new flavor of white chocolate M&M’s and were giving out samples. If they put them up for sale, everybody should try them. They’re my new favorite!

Although the trip was really fun, the way home wasn’t. First of all my dad had to stay in New Jersey for work, so I was really sad when we had to say goodbye. And second, our plane home was delayed for a couple of hours. So, we sat in an airport from 2:00 pm till 7:30 pm. That’s almost 7 hours! But it was okay after that. We got on the plane in New Jersey, got off the plane in Minnesota, drove home, went to bed, and got ready for the next day of school. Our family Thanksgiving trip was really fun and I HOPE TO DO IT AGAIN!!!
