Road Trip!
We are on our way to Austin,Texas for a two week vacation to see friends and family. My dad and younger brother,Spencer, had to go to Pennsylvania for my dads job before our vacation. So, my mom decided to have us (My mom, sister and I
) get a head start and meet them in Texas. Today, we drove through about four states. Part of Minnesota, (Where I live) Iowa, Missouri, and part of Kansas. It started to pour outside when we left, but it didn’t slow us down. We got through these four states in 7 hours! And for my family, that’s hard to do. We stopped at a really fun Iowa Welcome Center that had a restaurant called Maid Rite in it that was connected to a really cool store called the Amish Country Store. It’s our Favorite place to stop during the drive through Iowa. Missouri and Kansas were pretty boring though. There’s not really much to do or places to stop at. But, I did take some really cool pictures of trees and pretty farm land on the way. The one thing that I thought was really neat though, was when I saw a man on the side of the road in a black cart being driven by a horse. Turns out, he was selling really interesting hand woven baskets. I wanted to pull over and buy one! But, we didn’t have time to stop. We kept on driving and finally stopped at a Spring Hills Marriott Hotel for the night. We got settled in, went swimming,and are now back at the hotel. I can’t wait to hop in the car tomorrow drive through Kansas, Oklahoma, and make it to Texas!
